Situated in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve in the world-renowned Kruger National Park, Djuma Vuyatela comprises just eight chalets. The private lounge is separated from the bedroom by a beautiful teak deck which leads to a private plunge pool. The deck overlooks pristine African savanna with its bounty of animal life.
Vuyatela is an expression of modern South African culture. Each of the eight secluded kayas (chalets) has been attractively hand painted by nearby Shangaan villagers. A set of mosaics in each room has colourful patterns and symbols which add to the atmosphere of each kaya. The luxurious suites are made up of a bedroom, dressing room, bathroom with outdoor shower and separate lounge. Room features include air-conditioning, fans, mosquito nets, IDD telephone and bar fridge. The main lodge includes a large double deck, outdoor dining, wine cellar, bar overlooking a waterhole, indigenous aquarium, suspended birdwatching tower, internet library with detailed wildlife websites, gym and relaxation room.
After morning game-drives you may accompany your Shangaan guide to his nearby village for an authentic experience of a contemporary African environment. The basic Southern African cuisine places emphasis on quality ingredients. Along with the simple but impressive presentation and the richness of African cuisine, each meal will intrigue your palate, leaving enough mystery for a return visit.
