ISLANDS OF SIANKABA
- Bush lodge with six chalets
- Mighty Zambezi River
- Guided birding and tree walks
- Game-drives, canoeing & sunset cruises
The Islands of Siankaba Lodge is the most classic of forested retreats. It comprises just six secluded chalets linked by a foot bridge to an haute cuisine restaurant, all set on two untouched islands in the mighty Zambezi River.
The unique chalets encompass a range of twin or double-bedded options. They are constructed of teak and custom-made canvas tenting and are raised well above ground level into the tree canopy with balconies extending over the river. They are linked by a winding overhead walkway so that guests do not walk on the islands’ surface in order to protect the fragile riverine environment. All chalets are opulently finished and equipped with en suite bathroom (ball-and-claw bath and separate shower), mini-bar, large mosquito net, ceiling fan and private safe.
The main guest areas are located on the larger island whilst chalets are situated on the smaller island overlooking the river. The fully stocked bar caters for all needs, and is an ideal place to relax and enjoy an afternoon refresher in the shade of thick riverine forest canopy that surrounds the secluded sparkling swimming pool. Afternoon tea is served daily on the main lodge deck and allows the Lodge's chef to tempt the palate with some of his masterful delights. The decking area also allows one to enjoy unparalleled views of the mighty Zambezi River.
Activities include guided birding and tree walks on the main island, game drives to the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, sunset cruises, dugout canoe trips and cultural village tours.
