MOTSENTSELA TREE LODGE
- Just 7 Meru tents
- Thamalakane River
- Swimming pool & sundeck
- Prolific bird species
Situated 14 kilometres (9 miles) from Maun, this beautiful 200-hectare (494 acre) property borders the Thamalakane River. There are only seven large Meru tents, widely spaced, to allow for privacy. Each tent has an en suite bathroom with w.c, ‘his and hers’ wash hand basins, bath and outside shower. Each tent is raised on a wooden deck and has a small veranda. All tents are equipped with a ceiling fan, bedside lamps and wardrobe. The spacious tents are beautifully furnished in cream and earthy colours.
Game species on the property include zebra, kudu, springbok, ostrich and prolific birdlife.
The main lodge consists of a bar, lounge and dining area. This is a large thatched building with a full-length veranda where meals can also be enjoyed. Adjacent to the main building is a small pool with sundeck and sunbathing area. As there are no predatory species, guests can walk around the property.
Although not far from town, there is a very secluded and tranquil feel to the property. As it is fenced, it has also been saved from overgrazing and there are therefore numerous large trees and plenty of vegetation in general. Motsentsela offers complimentary transfers to/from Maun Airport.
