West of the Waterberg Plateau Park, where the vast plains are occasionally broken by the remnants of ancient sandstone outcrops is where guests will find the home of the sensational Okonjima. This family-run establishment is also home to the world-renowned AfriCat Foundation – a non-profit organisation, dedicated to conserve and protect threatened cheetah, leopard and the other big cats of Namibia.
Okonjima offers a variety of superlative accommodation. Guests can choose between staying in the Grand Villa, which overlooks a natural waterhole and has two luxury suites and two rooms (which are situated in the Main House) - all boast beautiful ensuite bathrooms and the suites are accompanied by a personal host or hostess; the beautiful Bush Suite, with the Omboroko Mountains as its backdrop offers two separate and private ensuite bedrooms (perfect for a family or group of four) and is accompanied by a personal host or hostess; the Luxury Bush Camp includes eight African-style chalets and three ensuite luxury twin tents as well as a secluded swimming pool, and finally, guests can also stay in the Main Camp, which boasts ten double rooms, situated around a lush garden, overlooking an open-fire entertainment area and three twin tents. Activities include exhilarating game drives, visits to the AfriCat Foundation and Cheetah Project, guided walks along a Bushman trail or self-guided walks along a nature trail as well as sensational birdwatching.
