Overlooking the Grumeti River, where wildlife congregates throughout the year, is Faru Faru River Lodge. Built in a rustic style with huge windows from which one can view the animals at the water, this camp symbolises the vision of mankinds place in the natural world, living in harmony rather than imposing his will. This intimate lodge with its ancient and majestic canopy of trees as an outlook, welcomes visitors to enjoy a cocktail on the lawn, overlooking the camp’s secluded waterholes, teeming with antelope and birdlife.
Faru Faru features six luxurious, air-conditioned suites, each with an en suite bath and shower. Every tent has a reading area, huge picture window, deck with Swarovski spotting scope, and a personal bar and fridge. The main lodge areas offer a dining room, bar lounge with satellite television, DVD player and library, Playstation and board games, outdoor barbeque area, and Colonial Trading Post. Viewing decks, overlooking the waterhole, are positioned alongside the heated swimming pool.
The lodge Spa features two therapy rooms for treatments, although many of the treatments can also be conducted in guest suites. Access to the Equestrian Centre, which is home to 16 horses, is available to all guests and all activities are led by professional, fully qualified horse guides. Other professionally guided activities include game drives in open vehicles, walks, night drives, mountain biking and archery.
