- Semi-nomadic camps follow the migration throughout the season
- Private Tanzanian guide and 4WD vehicle
- Sightings of predators, large herbivores and over 500 species of birds
The Serengeti Safari Camp shadows the wildebeest migration so that wherever the great herds move guests are as close to them as possible. The tents are comfortable, light and simple, but equipped with everything one might need including en-suite bathrooms with traditional safari style bucket showers, short drop toilets, and hot and cold water on demand. All guests need do is arrive in camp at the end of each exciting day, to hot showers, ice filled gin & tonics, and a roaring campfire. The days end with dinner, stars, and a truly magical fireside ambiance.
The Serengeti ecosystem's diverse habitats range from vast open grassland plains to acacia strewn savannahs and rocky outcrops, and sustain more than thirty species of large herbivores and over five hundred varieties of birds. In what is said to be the largest movement of animals on the planet, wildebeest, zebra and gazelle herds number in their millions and follow the seasonal rains in search of water and fresh grazing. The Migration is beyond doubt one of the wonders of the animal world. A million and more animals playing out their lives in the Serengeti ecosystem, watched all the way by lions, hyenas and crocodiles looking for dinner.
On this awesome safari, guests are given the unique opportunity to roam around the Greater Serengeti in authentic Nomad fashion. The camps are semi nomadic, meaning they won’t actually move during a guests visit, shadowing the Migration so guests, their own Tanzanian driver/guide and private 4WD vehicle, are as close to a million wildebeest as possible.
