Onguma Private Nature Reserve has more than 20,000 hectares of protected land and wildlife. It boasts over thirty different animal species consisting of plains game such as kudu, giraffe, eland, oryx, hartebeest, zebra and impala as well as a thriving population of predators such as lion, cheetah and leopard. The latest addition to the Onguma Nature Reserve is a family of black rhinos. More than 300 bird species can also be viewed at Onguma Nature Reserve. Onguma Safari Camps consists of: Onguma Tree Top Camp - situated on the Onguma Game Reserve, adjacent to the Eastern side of Etosha National Park. It is a small and intimate camp, specially designed for those who would like to experience the bush in its raw splendour. This Camp is built on wooden stilts among the tree tops, with full views over one of the most beautiful waterholes on the reserve. The Camp consists of four thatched wooden rooms, and a main complex. The rooms are designed in such a way that they can open on all sides to allow guests to enjoy panoramic views and have canvas sides which can be pulled down for privacy; Onguma Plains Camp - the fort on Fishers Pan, overlooks the beautiful scarceness of the Etosha Pans. It offers a classical African feel, combined with a touch of Moroccan and Indian features, and is characterised by a selection of the most beautiful antique windows and doors. Onguma Plains has 12 mini-suites, all situated adjacent to the Main Fort. Each suite is completely private with a main bedroom and dressing room area, and furnished with a personal bar and air conditioning. The spacious bathroom has both an inside shower and an outdoor shower area - wooden decks lead towards the outside seating area; Onguma Tented Camp is a beguiling mixture of sophistication and relaxation. It is this intriguing combination and attention-to-detail that makes Onguma Tented Camp, the latest in Visions of Africa's up-market portfolio of camps - the ultimate in safari chic.
