Loldia House was built in the Second World War, and is nestled under ancient Acacia trees. Lush lawns run down to the shores of Lake Naivasha, the Great Rift Valley's highest and purest lake. Indigenous plants and flowers fill the gardens and the house’s main archway frames a stunning view of dormant volcano, Mount Longonot. Wild animals roam free on the farm and small antelope wander through the gardens. In the evenings hippo munch quietly by the waterside.
The house has retained its original character over the years: comfy chairs surround a huge fireplace; paintings by an artist who lives on the farm hang on the walls; a deep and shady veranda and sunbeds in the garden allow guests to relax and unwind. Accommodation consists of en-suite rooms in the main house with original furniture, and two cottages with their own sitting-room, fireplace and panoramic lake-view. Delicious meals, with fish and shrimp from the lake, are served under the trees or in the old colonial dining room. Britain’s Country Life Magazine even described Loldia’s manager as "probably the world’s best butler".
Guests to Loldia house can enjoy excursions to numerous national parks, game drives, horse riding, boat rides, fishing, hikes and various sporting activities such as golf and tennis. No visit to this area is complete however, without a trip to the flamingo lakes of Nakuru, Elementaita and Bogoria, one of the great spectacles of Africa.
