Situated in the Kaokoland in the Purros Conservancy, often described as one of the last truly wild areas in the North West of Namibia, Okahirongo Lodge is surrounded by beautiful mountainous landscapes, which exude a rugged tranquillity. The main guest areas include a pool area, a library, two open-air sitting areas, two dining rooms, a terrace and boma. Seven luxurious chalets feature a large ensuite bathroom (with a bath that is strategically positioned to offer spectacular views of the lodge surrounds) and a private sala. The menu at Okahirongo Elephant Lodge changes daily. Guests can feast on menus which feature a delectable fusion of African and Italian flavours, with ingredients brought in from the lodge’s organic garden to ensure undeniable flavour and freshness. Activities include twice-daily game and scenic drives, tracking desert-adapted elephants, lion tracking with the Desert Lion Project, hiking along the Uarosib River, morning desert walks, birdwatching and cultural visits.
