TULI BLOCK, BOTSWANA
A safari in the Tuli Block is a fascinating wilderness experience. Characterised by many rocky outcrops, large rivers and dry riverbeds, the Tuli Block has an interesting frontier history because of its strategic position along the South African border. This along with fascinating geographical features and the incredibly diverse wildlife firmly establishes a Tuli Block safari as a must when visiting Botswana.
ABOUT TULI BLOCK
Tuli Block
Known as “the land of the giants”, the Tuli Block is approximately 350km/218 miles long. It ranges from where the Shashe and the Limpopo Rivers meet in the east to the Notwane River in the south-west. Gigantic trees line the banks of the Limpopo River, as do forests of lime-green fever trees. Game viewing is good, and there are more than 600 elephants in this relatively small area. Predators are seen on a regular basis.
Set in a landscape of striking natural beauty, the Tuli Block comprises 12 000 ha (300 000 acres) of the largest privately-owned game conservation area in southern Africa. Travellers may stay at a wide range of wonderful camps and lodges to match any budget. Most of the private reserves within the Tuli Block offer exciting guided day and night game-drives and bush walks.
Botswana offers a host of other spectacular attractions to discover and explore. Canoe down the crystal clear waterways of the Okavango Delta, gaze in awe at the largest elephants herds on earth, in the Chobe National Park, discover the diverse Moremi Game Reserve and explore the fascinating desert-adapted wildlife of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve.
