ABOUT SWAKOPMUND
Swakopmund
Just outside the town of Swakopmund is the extraordinary Moon Landscape, a seemingly endless series of bizarre hills and valleys. For botanists, there is the lure of what have been called “living fossils”, the Welwitschia mirabilis.
Swakopmund is also a popular activity destination. Between the town and Walvis Bay, a section of dunes have been set aside for fun and adventure sports. The town borders the northern section of the Namib-Naukluft Park, encompassing one of the most bewitching desert wilderness areas in Africa.
