WILD COAST, EASTERN CAPE
The Wild Coast is the region stretching north from East London and is largely untamed and unexploited. Considered the pearl in the Eastern Cape’s crown, the Wild Coast has countless natural attractions and offers kilometres of unspoiled coastline, forest and rolling planes.
ABOUT WILD COAST
Wild Coast
As its name suggests, the Wild Coast is totally unspoiled and non-commercialised, offering a pleasant climate, mild seas and spectacular scenery. There are numerous hikes along the magnificent coastline for all levels of fitness.
One of the most beautiful spots along the Wild Coast is the small community of Coffee Bay. There is not much more here than some huts, a trading store, a plain camping site and two resort hotels. The nearby spectacular Hole-in-the-Wall is a highlight along this stretch of coastline.
Visit the Nelson Mandela Museum in Umtata and take an inspirational journey through the life of the world-famous icon. Known affectionately as “Madiba”, he is loved and respected worldwide for his tireless energy devoted to bringing about a better life for all. Other places of interest in the Eastern Cape include the Frontier hinterland, the Sunshine Coast and the Great Fish River.
