PANORAMA ROUTE, MPUMALANGA
The Panorama route is renowned for its scenic beauty, featuring breathtaking natural wonders such as God’s Window, Blyde River Canyon – the world’s third largest canyon – and Bourke’s Luck Potholes with its accompanying ‘three rondawels’ – hut-shaped hills.
ABOUT PANORAMA ROUTE
Panorama Route
The most spectacular stretch of the Panorama Route is the Blyde River Canyon. From many well-positioned vantage points one has a view of the 33 km long gorge, which starts at "Bourke's Luck Potholes" and ends at the "Three Rondavels". The Potholes are very impressive rock formations that were shaped millions of years ago by erosion. The bizarre swirl holes developed when the once rapid river carried masses of sand and debris.
The Panorama Route offers something for everyone. Nature enthusiasts will discover cascading water falls while adrenaline junkies can get their next rush by bungee jumping, white water rafting or going on rigorous 4x4 trails. More gentler pursuits include hot air ballooning, walking trails and gold panning.
Mpumalanga is also home to the world-famous Kruger National Park. The flagship of South Africa’s national parks, this 2-million hectare reserve offers an excellent Big Five wildlife experience and a varied selection of accommodation, from luxurious private game lodges to public rest camps.
Bordering the world-famous Kruger National Park, Bush Lodge is set in the heart of the Sabi Sabi bushveld overlooking a waterhole and an African plain.
