PILANESBERG, NORTH WEST PROVINCE
Pilanesberg is situated alongside the Sun City resort on the eroded remains of an extinct volcanic crater - one of only three in the world. The Pilanesberg Game Reserve boasts the Big Five and consists of numerous picturesque hills, wooded ravines and grassy open plains.
ABOUT PILANESBERG
Pilanesberg
The beautiful Pilanesberg National Park will delight game viewers as it is a malaria-free zone and home to the Big Five. The Park was opened in 1979 as part of "Operation Genesis", the largest game resettlement project in the history of South Africa.
Although small, the Park is teaming with wildlife. View game from 4 x 4 safari vehicles, on walking trails or from the air in a hot air balloon. Experienced guides will ensure you get the most from your safari experience.
The Park’s close proximity to Sun City makes it an ideal add-on for some exceptional game viewing. The Game Reserves of Madikwe and Waterberg are also nearby, so there is no shortage of game experiences in this region.
Sun City & Kruger Park Golf
(From: ZAR 8544 per person sharing)
Located in the middle of dry bushveld scrub, Sun City is a man-made fantasy paradise set in a valley of the Pilanesberg Mountains. Hans Merensky Golf Club is bordered by The Kruger National Park, and many of the Park’s inhabitants pay little regard to fencing.
Situated in the north-eastern region of the Pilanesberg Game Reserve near Sun City, Ivory Tree Game Lodge features 60 double suites located on the edges of the amphitheatre basin.
