Originally christened "Bahia Formosa" (beautiful bay), Plettenberg Bay is further north along the coast from Knysna and is paradise for lovers of sun, sea and laid-back living. Walks and hikes are spectacular, and visitors can experience a dolphin- and whale- watching eco-marine cruise.
The Outeniqua-Tsitsikamma indigenous forests are a unique mixture of Cape Fynbos and temperate forest and offer the nature lover world-renowned hiking trails and an exciting opportunity to see the last remaining forest elephants of South Africa
There are many idyllic attractions and places of interest to discover along the spectacular Garden Route. The towns of George, the nearby quaint town of Oudtshoorn, and the jewel of the Garden Route, Knysna are ideal bases from which to explore the region.
