BIRD ISLAND ESCAPE

Day 01 - 07: Bird Island, Seychelles
On arrival at the Seychelles International Airport, you will be met and welcomed to this breath-taking island paradise. The representative will assist you with check in for your scheduled domestic flight to Bird Island. The flight is approximately 30 minutes in duration.
Bird Island is a simple blend of nature and hospitality where a conservationist’s dream of paradise has been realized. The island is the most northerly island of the Seychelles Archipelago and is situated 60 miles from the main island of Mahé.
It is a beautiful tropical island renowned for its un-spoilt beaches, flora and fauna which have largely been preserved as a result of careful eco-tourism planning. The lodge offers a unique blend of hospitality, relaxation and simplicity in an unpretentious, non-sophisticated and natural environment. There is no air-conditioning, no television or telephone in the rooms and no swimming pool as the beach offers excellent and safe swimming all year round. Except for the guests of Bird Island Lodge and its friendly Seychellois staff, there are no other human inhabitants on the island. The central facilities include a reception, lounge, bar and restaurant, which serves fresh local cuisine. The comfortably furnished chalets are built on the grounds of a former coconut plantation. In 1776 a passing ship reported, that the island was "covered with birds innumerable". When Mr. Savy and his partners bought the island in 1967 the number of birds had been dramatically reduced. Following their successful conservation project the Sooty Tern colony has increased dramatically in numbers. Bird Island has once again become home of "birds innumerable". The conservation project also includes the two endangered species of sea turtles that nest on the beach - the Hawksbill Turtle and the Green Turtle. Activities range from sunbathing on the sheer white sands, swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, nature island tours and exceptional bird watching. Bird Island offers excellent big-game fishing and bottom-fishing excursions at an additional charge.
Spend six nights at Bird Island Lodge. Accommodation is a bungalow. Your stay is on a full board basis inclusive of all meals and a bottle of wine on the last evening. Honeymooners staying a minimum of four nights will receive the following gifts: A bottle of sparkling wine, Pareo, t-shirt and a complimentary upgrade to a seafood dinner on one evening.
Day 07: Departure
Today you will check out of your hotel and will be transferred by scheduled domestic flight back to Mahe and the Seychelles International Airport.
