Guests are accompanied throughout by an armed ranger and experienced tracker.
WALKING SAFARIS IN BOTSWANA
Botswana offers some of the most rewarding wildlife experiences in Africa and what better way to discover Africa than on foot. Botswana’s diverse ecosystems, meandering waterways and the dry and mysterious desert are ideal for unforgettable, extensive and diverse walking and safari experiences. Walking safaris reveal those secrets only exposed on an up close and personal encounter with Africa’s wilderness.
The Linyanti is one of the most attractive and less-travelled areas of Botswana with an abundance of game and birdlife in a magnificent bush and delta atmosphere. A section of the Selinda Reserve has been set aside for walking safaris, which are conducted through riparian forest and open plains. The area is located along the Selinda Spillway, a water course linking Botswana's Okavango Delta to the Linyanti Swamps. Guests are accompanied throughout by a fully armed professional guide and tracker.
Reasonable levels of fitness are a prerequisite, and distances depend on wildlife encounters. There are age restrictions on the walking safaris – the aim is to ensure optimum safety and guest enjoyment. There are usually set departure dates on walking safaris. We pride ourselves in offering excellent, knowledgeable and experience-based advice and professional service. Tailormake your Botswana experience by combining your walking safari with a few nights at one of the spectacular lodges situated in Botswana.
Zibalianja Camp
This small and intimate tented camp is scenically situated on a palm island on the periphery of Botswana's northern Linyanti Swamps. Named after a
nearby lagoon, Zibalianja Camp offers panoramic views of open floodplains dotted with palms.
